ایک انٹر ویو میں ہمایوں اختر خان نے کہا کہ نئی منڈیاں ڈھونڈنا آسان نہیں ہے،2007میں میرے دور وزارت میں چین سے فری ٹریڈ کا معاہدہ ہوا،دیگر جن ممالک کے ساتھ چین نے یہ معاہدہ کیا انہوں نے تو چین کی منڈیوں میں اپنی جگہ بنا لی لیکن پاکستان گزشتہ17 سال میں اس پر خاطر خواہ کام نہیں کر سکا،ہمیں چین سے بھی کچھ رعایتیں لینا ہوں گی ،ٹیرف کے معاملے پر امریکہ کے ساتھ بھی مذاکرات کی ٹیبل پر بیٹھ کے درمیانی راستہ نکالنا ہوگا کیونکہ ہم امریکہ کو تقریباً 5.2 ارب ڈالر کی برآمدات کرتے ہیں۔

چین کے اوپر تقریباً 36 فیصد اور یورپ پر 20 فیصد ٹیرف لگایا گیا ہے اس کے نتیجے میں بڑے ممالک میں تو ٹریڈ وار شروع ہو جائے گی لیکن ہم اس کے متحمل نہیں ہوسکتے،اگر یہ ٹیرف قائم رہتے ہیں تو ہمیں چین، کمبوڈیا، ویتنام جیسے ممالک کے مقابلے میں کچھ سبقت تو ملی ہے لیکن وہیں بھارت ، ترکیہ، مصر جیسے ممالک کے مقابلے میں ہماری سبقت منفی میں گئی ہے ۔

انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ ہمیں اپنے صنعتی شعبے کو دوبارہ کھڑا کرنا ہے کیونکہ اس کا جی ڈی پی میں حصہ مسلسل گر رہا ہے ،ٹیکس ریونیو اور نوکریوں کا بڑا حصہ اسی شعبے سے آتا ہے۔انہوںنے کہا کہ ہمارے ملک میں پیٹرو کیمیکل ، اسٹیل ملز،مشین ٹولزفیکٹریاں نہیں ہیں جس پر بھرپور توجہ دینے کی ضرورت ہے ، ہمیں مشکلات کی دلدل سے نکلنا ہے تو ہمیں مینوفیکچرننگ بیسڈ گروتھ پر توجہ دینا ہو گی ۔
