ایک انٹرویو میں مفتاح اسماعیل نے کہا کہ حکومت کہتی ہے سولر استعمال کرنے والا صارف ہم پر بوجھ ہے، حکومت نے کہا ہے کہ 400 یونٹ پر سیلز ٹیکس لگے گا۔حکومت نے کہا کہ جو یونٹ خریدیں گے اس پر بھی سیلز ٹیکس کاٹیں گے، حکومت کہتی ہے 44 روپے کے یونٹ پر 9 روپے سیلز ٹیکس لیں گے، حکومت کہتی ہے کہ نیٹ میٹرنگ سے 150 ارب کا بوجھ ہے۔مفتاح اسماعیل نے کہا کہ نیپرا کے گزشتہ سال کے اعدادوشمار دیکھے ہیں 40 ارب کی نیٹ میٹرنگ بجلی خریدی گئی، حکومت کہتی ہے جو گھریلو صارف مہنگی بجلی نہیں خرید رہا وہ بوجھ ہے۔
انھوں نے کہا کہ پاکستان کے عوام آپ کے غلام نہیں یہاں کے شہری ہیں، حکومت کو بجلی سستی کرنی چاہیے، صارف مہنگی بجلی کیوں خریدے، موبائل فون نے بھی لینڈ لائن فون کی اجارہ داری ختم کردی تھی۔
مفتاح اسماعیل نے کہا کہ اب لارج اسکیل بجلی جنریشن ختم ہوجائے گی لوگ سولر لگائیں گے، آئندہ لوگ اپنے گھروں پر سولر لگائیں گے اور بجلی پڑوسیوں میں بانٹیں گے، حکومت اپنے اقدامات سے مڈل کلاس شہریوں کو مار رہی ہے۔
