راولپنڈی (نمائندہ خصوصی)ملک کے معروف سیاستدان سابق وزیرداخلہ شیخ رشید احمد اپنی72ویں سالگرہ6نومبر کو منائیں گے۔شیخ رشید احمد6نومبر 1950ءکو راولپنڈی میں پیدا ہوئے انہوں نے اپنا سیاسی سفر تحریک استقلال سے شروع کیا،1985ءکے غیر جماعتی الیکشن میں ممبر قومی اسمبلی بنے،1988ءمیں پیپلز پارٹی کے ٹکاخان کو شکست دے کر رکن قومی اسمبلی منتخب ہوئے۔

90ئ،93 اور97میں ایم این اے بنے نواز شریف کی کابینہ میں شامل رہے۔2002ءمیں پرویز مشرف کے مداحوں میں شمار ہونے لگے اور آزاد حیثیت میں الیکشن جیت کر ق لیگ میں شامل ہو گئے۔بزرگ سیاستدان مخدوم جاوید ہاشمی اپنی ہر پریس کانفرنس میں شیخ رشید احمد کو ہدف تنقید ضرور بناتے ہیں،واضح رہے کہ 2008ءکے الیکشن میں مخدوم جاوید ہاشمی نے شیخ رشید کو شکست دی تھی۔

2013ءمیں ممبر قومی اسمبلی بنے جبکہ2018ءمیں الیکشن جیتنے کے بعد انہیں تحریک انصاف کی حکومت میں وزیر ریلوے اور بعدازاں وزیر داخلہ بنایا گیا تھا۔شیخ رشید احمد کی وجہ شہرت ان کا سیاست میں عوامی انداز،سیاسی پیش گوئیاںہیں۔
